Problem for flashing the SB6120

Hi D3m0n,

I flashed my SB6120 with ForceWare firmware via BCUSB V1.8 in SPI mode. Sometimes, the Console tab of the software shows "Flash data does not contain proper firmware format". To solve this problem, I try to reflash the backup file at SPI Flash tab. After that flashing process has finished, I will see the new tab which allows me to select the firmware to flash the modem. When that process goes to 46%, it will halt and show "New firmware successfully installed". Is there any problem with my modem?

During the flashing process, I saw the Receive and Send lights are on blue. After that flashing process, I removed the clip and the ISP test pin from the modem. I saw these 2 light are still existed and the Link light is on blue. Do you know what the problem is with my modem? I tried to connect the modem with my computer, but I can't ping that modem via 192.168.100.1 ...It shows request timed out.

Thanks for your kind help.

It shows you are using a different script for your device , if you are using forceware try this script.
See if this gives you the same issue and let me know.

The flashing process at UBF1 will halt at 46% and it will continue to flash from 46% and will halt at UBF2 at 94%. Could you offer me all the necessary files for U-Boot and NVRAM to write in this page?

If you load your original stock firmware onto the modem , does it load ok ,using the SPI flash tab (Full Flash) ?
If it loads ok, and the modem is in a working state all you have to do is load forceware via the UBF1 and UBF2 tabs , you will need to use your original nvram from your stock flash if you wish to retain the Certs of this device.

Hi D3m0n,

You said "original stock firmware", do you mean Motorola's default firmware? Or the backup from the SPI Flash tab? I can read and write anything at SPI Flash tab. The UBF1 will halt at 46% and the UBF2 will halt at 92%. I purchased this modem with premodded forceware. But it was bricked by me. So, I don't have any original firmware or nvram file. Do you have the backup of nvram file?

Hi D3m0n,

Would it be possible to offer me the Motorola's default firmware? Will my Receive, Send, and Link lights go out after I flash it to factory's default firmware?

I have a full dump lying around somewhere , i will try to find it and upload it for you , i am not sure if it has the original certs on or not though .
If you have your full backup from when you received the device , be it premodded , you will be able to restore the device by just flashing from the SPI flash tab

Yes load your 8 meg dump you made a backup of , and then see if you have access to the 192 html page

I have flashed with 8 meg dump. Yet, my computer can't get the default IP from the modem for 192.168.100.10 I can't ping my modem via 192.168.100.1 if I connect it with coxial cable, either. I don't know why the Receive, Send, and Link lights are still on blue.

Hi D3m0n,

I can flash the modem at anytime with the scipt you offered; however, come what may I have flashed it with 8 meg dump at SPI Flash tab and Forceware at SB6120-Forceware tab, I can't go to the webgui via 192.168.100.1 The Receive and Send lights never go out when I power up the modem. Is it possible that my modem has crashed?

If you just load the 8M dump do the LED's of the device go out on power up ? If they do not then your 8M dump is corrupt

Only the Link light between the 3 lights (Receive, Send, and Link) goes out when I connect with BCUSB and power up the modem. When I read at the SPI Flash tab, the LED's of Receive and Send don't go out.

Ok i sent you an 8M flash file in a PM try that and let me know

I have flashed the dump file you offered. The problem is still existed. See the photos.

When you flashed the dump to the modem was there any mismatches in the console tab or did it all flash 100% with no problems ?

No, I don't see any errors during the flashing process.

See the photos...
