Cannot connect over SPI @ Winbond W25Q64BV

I try to revive a MSI H61-E33 with Winbond W25Q64BV chip.

The first step was flashing the SPI-Firmware on the BlackCat. Works fine.
After that, pinning the cables on the pins of the JSPI1-Interface on the motherboard with the programmer, but it does not detect the chip. (Build 330, Windows 7x64)

LibUsbDotNet version: 2.2.8.104
FlashcatUSB Script Engine build: 202
Welcome to FlashcatUSB interfacing software, build: 330
Running on: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit)
Device connected in SPI mode, firmware version: 3,05
Unable to connect to compatible SPI device

This has to be a connection issue or a problem with the Voltage as i happen to have one of these chips and they detect and program fine off the board.

There is another thread with a similar chip where the guy had issues detecting as well .
Is your Enable Jtag Pin ticked in the settings Tab ?
If so could you measure the voltage it is outputting once connected to the motherboard.

The "Enable Jtag Pin ticked" is now checked. I got the following JEDEC ID: 80 00 80, but cannot flash with automatic settings.

Could you please tell me your settings, i try with this settings:

That is a false jedec Id , u need the same one as in my screenshot.
Inputting values into the spi settings tab will be pointless at this stage . You may have to add external voltage to the 2pins , u may also require the #HOLD pin to be connected high to VCC.

Are you getting the correct voltage on the vcc headers on the motherboard ?

On black-cat:
gnd -> vcc 1,45 V

bios-chip:
pin4 (gnd) -> pin8 (vcc) 1,44 V

with atx-power it is 3,35 V
pin4 (gnd) -> pin8 (vcc)

Ok so the vcc is too low , can u set your bcusb to the 5v setting and see if it connects

it looks like i have it, but the flash is only 4 mb, that could be wrong but the rom-data looks great.
jedec: EF 4016
rom: W25Q32

i try to flash.

That is reporting as the wrong flash are you sure you have the w25q64 on the board ?

The flashing progress runs successfully. :D
MSI H61-E33 starts and i get into the bios. All fine.

Thank you very much.

PS: I switched on the atx-power supply and the chip get its power over 2,5 V.

So do you have the Q32 chip on board ?

Glad it worked ok for you

Could u do me a favour and write a detailed description of how you connected it and got the correct vcc to flash this chip properly , as I have a guy with the same chip who is having issues getting it to program.

It would also help others.

Thank you

Thank you for that , that is a very detailed explanation and i am sure it will help others out.

very detailed!

Do you have CPU, RAM and/or CMOS Batt. in the mainboard when you do this?
My mobo turns on for 0.1 sec then stops again with everything unplugged
