Still not conneting. Mine is W25Q64FVSIG your list says it supports the BV version but dose not include the FV in the list, If that is that causes the problem. Here is my console output file.

LibUsbDotNet version: 2.2.8.104
FlashcatUSB Script Engine build: 202
Welcome to FlashcatUSB interfacing software, build: 330
Running on: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (32 bit)
Device connected in SPI mode, firmware version: 3.05
Opening device in SPI Mode 0 (Fosc/2 MSB)
Connected to Flash (JEDEC: 00 0000)
For read write support email contact@embeddedcomputers.net with JEDEC ID
Device connected in SPI mode, firmware version: 3.05
Opening device in SPI Mode 0 (Fosc/2 MSB)
Connected to Flash (JEDEC: 00 0000)

on the main screen it says unsupported spi device

The first is without the jtag wire enabled second is with the Jtag vcc enabled. I think the whole chips is earse live update upated in windows 8 automatically. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

BV or FV is irrelevant , this is a connection issue , can you post a pic of your connection from fcusb to the chip ?

There is a pdf in post 18 on that thread of how that guy managed to get a detection , download it and have a read , it may work for you

Still not working i been reading. I tryed with no avail. I am confused on the bridge is that on the chip or on the cables pluged into spi.

I know how to solder never tried but i am sure i can remove the chip. If i remove the chip and bur an adater i should be good to go or can i do it without the apadter.

I found the answer i need to be shorted from the chip. this is all new to me spi flashing. Thank you for your help. I will install the short then try if not i will work on Lifting the chip from the board. I will report back once that is finshed. Again thank you very much for your help. I understand this is a msi issue and am very happy with my flashcat

If you do decide to lift the chip , just solder direct to the chip , but be carefull as the legs could easily break if you are hard handed.
fcusb is not the best programmer on the market but it sometimes gets the job done :))

I dont think i can i can lift it without a hot air station can i solder on the chip in the board.

Yes you can , but you will be better off using an external VCC to power the chip , have you tried using an external power source on the pins instead of what fcusb supplies ?

Great idea I will tap the 24 pin. After i remove the motherboard I found a small tag with the serial number. I was able to get a free rma from MSI. So i am sending it to cali in the morning, if the external powersupply dose not work. Accutally that make alot os since i am using a 5 year old lap top may have weak usb ports. I will try flashing from my other Desktops USB. But i have the free RMA if it dose not work thank you for your help and i am still happy with my flash cat because of other jtag and spi things it dose.

It was still worth a try to aviod shipping my baby across the country. Again thank you very much for your time and considerations.
