PCB 1.4 AMBIT 256 NOT bcusb.rc15.326 not supported

These modems are very temperamental when using the ISP method especially with BCUSB , the other option you have which will work 100% is to remove the chip from the board and connect it as per the wiring schematic in the documentation folder.
 
There may be another option , that is keep the wiring we had previously , but do not use the ISP connection or power to the modem , instead get a 5v lead and connect that to the VCC point on the chip.

you were right i had wired the ic wrong will this kill the ic as i have now redone the wiring but am still not getting a reading from the chip

It is very hard to mess these IC's up , can you post a diagram of how you have it wired up now please.
 
No it shouldn't cause an issue , i take it you have removed the chip off the board ?? and have it wired as per the diagram ?

no it is still on the board but has correct wireing now but the modem no longer flashes all lights when power is added and with power no flash is detected without power it says not supported

If it is still on the board then Pin 7 of the IC does not get connected ... The BCM will get hot that is normal , unless it gets hot straight away .

no it doesent get hot right away but gets too hot to hold is this ok i have not connected 7 or 8 is this right

It will get hot at some point , but should not be an issue unless something has gone wrong with the modem ,,,,,
7 & 8 are not connected unless the chip has been removed from the modem itself.
8 can be connected to an external 3v or 5v source if used this way the normal power supply to the modem must NOT be used
 
hi d3m0n I followed what you said to do on the ambit 256 and its detecting every thing is great I have a 2 meg dump I would like to program on to the modem but I dont know what to set the address at it currently set at address 0x0 should I leave it at this or change it cheers dave
 
forget my last post its got haxorware on it now my blackcat is an old vertion 1.5 without vault selector but bit programed fine thanx so much for your info d3m0n.now all I need is the settings for haxorware I have a valid mac please can some one direct me for the swetting for haxorware for virmin thanx dave
 
Sorry Dave , but we cant supply the info you need to get the modem online , you would need to check out other forums for that info , i would recommend wizardmods .
But i am glad you managed to get the modem detected and programmed.
