3M SOIC BLACKCAT USB SPI 16WAY TEST CLIP ISP SB6120

i have pcb 1.7 and i uploaded BCUSB.7.05.EJTAG_16K.hex, is it correct? please help me...

As mentholflash mentioned you need to flash the SPI firmware to the BCUSB , 3.04.SPI hex file

I tried spi also, blackcat with clip did not work I think i screwed my modem, every time i connect 6120, lights send and receive dont sync anymore, sad(

Do you get a detection with BCUSB ? Do you also still have access to the 192 GUI ?

yea, i still have access to 192, but my clip does not clip anymore the chip, after 100 trials, it just slip out from the chip and my modem dont have send and receive lights anymore, but online, link and another is blinking...

Try soldering direct to the Chip if you need to flash it , Is the modem already flashed or do you have stock firmware on it ?

i still have not got a chance to flash, the clip got screwed up, why i started having problem no send and receive lights all of sudden, do you think i screwed something on the board?

Anything is possable with these devices , they are made cheap , so basically a small short in the wrong place could damage the device . As you have access to the GUI i would not worry too much about it , the device may still work as normal without the LED's.
There is no other way to flash the device without a clip or by soldering direct to the chip.
If the chip was removed from the device then there are sockets available to flash with.

thank you, it really looks like i screwed up, when i see the log, it stuck on something and does not go any furher, very sad.(

there is different isp cable for r362. Quick question, is there any way to see the firmware of the modem in the blackcat software without hooking up that separate cable from the clip or it has to be plugged in in order to see spi recognizable?

The ISP cable has to be connected in order to get a detection , if you are using the modems power supply , alternatively you can try applying 3.3v to 5v to the VCC pin on the chip (without modems power ) and you may be able to get a detection that way as well.

i am still having problem to detect 6120 and i used latest spi, would you describe step by step please what i got to do, caz i already burnt one board.. it scan for spi and nothing is found?

Connect your 6120 as per the diagram , This is using the ISP point and the modems power supply.

You will notice that SI on the FCUSB goes to SO on the modem, and SO on the FCUSB goes to SI on the modem .

i just got one regular cable that came with m3 kit and that connect blackcat with modem, do i have to anything else?

If you are going to solder to the chip direct , i suggest getting some wire to use , as you will not want to damage your existing lead

I tried 100 times it is still cant recognise the device in spi mode, what if i run external power cord and supply to pin2, will it work? and second question would you please explain me in details how to make the cord from usb for external use like that
