SPI reads only blank data on U10C035.20 modem

I've been flashing modems for quite a few years and it's always worked fine.

This Ubee is pile of garbage, though. It will only allow detection of the MX chip with 5v applied and reads nothing but blank data. 6120 scripts refuse to load as the firmware must be something new, b/c it sure doesn't fit the layout. Not that I need the scripts, I just want to full dump it, but it's an asshole.

I read the .35 ver is locked down, but this one seems to work minus actually reading.

Any experience with this SB knock off?

Don't know anything about this device , but can't see the MX chip being locked down especially for reading , best thing to actually do is to remove it from the board and try and see if it detects anything off the pcb , this is what i would try first.

had the same problem..i removed the chip and put it in the 16 soic adapter....is there anything different I have to do to read it????
