  • Fast 16MHz RISC processor

  • 32KB Flash (upgraded from 16KB!)

  • 2 DIP switches for mode changes (SPI / JTAG)

  • Upgradeable firmware over USB

  • On board reset button

  • Universal CFI Flash programming support

  • SPI Mode 0, 1, 2 compatible

  • USB 1.1 / 2.0 compatible

  • Dual voltage (3.3v or 5v) output

It should also be noted that PCB 1.7 is still in production too but with the upgraded memory (32K chip). The 1.7 version uses a standard 16MHz crystal and the 1.8 version uses a SMD crystal. Other than that, the boards are exactly the same.

hello i wont this new pcb. i have old 16kb chip board. is it possible exchange or bye new version board for little discount?

35 dollors ebay.com you can buy one new...

i have the 1.8 it very nice for the money...

will the 1.8 have better detecting capablities as i have a few arris and only the haxo will detect all of them the blc just detect some of them

The detection process will be the same , what ouput are you getting on the models that you are having issues detecting , and what are the models ?

i have the arris 802 it will detect 6 out of 10 it will give me numbers but not a full detection only if i put it to my settings in spi but that wont write properly any ideas

Do these devices all have the same identical SPI flash ?

yes they do, i get like 48088 or close instead of 16,77,216 i have two blc one detects less than the other the newer one detects the most thats why i asked if this new one will detect better

No the hardware and software should be no different apart from the fact that your device may require 3.3v output from the hardware , i know on the older versions of bcusb that the pin output is closer to 5v , so this could be an issue .

Are you also using an ISP point or are you powering pin2 on the chip itself ?

pin2 i cant find the isp point on these arris, i power it with a ttl to usb device which has both 3 and 5 volt on it

The voltage to Pin2 is not the issue , it is the voltages to the other pins , What version of BCUSB do you have ? does it have the 3v to 5v switch on it ? BCUSB v1.7 upwards has this switch.

yep they are both 1.7 and all my computers are brand new, i made the test clip myself but it works well on all 6220 but not the arris, i have a tester if you tell me what voltage should be coming on each pin i could test to see if it is between the test clip or eslewhere thanks bro

As you have the V1.7 , do this for a test , try first the devices on the 5v setting and then the 3v setting and let me know if the readout is the same for both.

sorry i was away for the holidays so i checked as you said but its the same reading on 3 and 5 volts 4018. anyways i have some ideas on scripts i think i should put in a new thread

i am a bit peed off here i ordered a version 1.8 and i got 1.7 i have 2 of the older 1.7 please guys dont do this to me i have shopped with you guys all the time

First and foremost , i have no affiliation to BCUSB or it's resellers. All i do is promote the product .
This is my site , it is solely a support forum which i fund by myself.
Venting your frustrations here will do you no good , as i do not sell anything from this site or elsewhere.

Secondly , the V1.7 is exactly the same as v1.8 if your v1.7 has the atmega32 flash . The only differance between the 2 is the crystal.
