Getting BlackcatUSB PCB 1.8 to work

I pulled out my BlackcatUSB that i purchased in 2015 to flash the BIOS of a gaming laptop and can't get any of the software (even older builds) to connect to it
I downloaded the latest software and installed the drivers

then tried older software https://www.blackcatusb.net/index.php?threads/official-fcusb-rc19-370.380/ and still showing as status disconnected

I last used this to flash the BIOS chip of an Asus Motherboard, and now trying to flash an Asus gaming laptop, wired everything up and nothing.

correction, the link provided just crashes, build 326 doesn't detect either

Version 1.8 was discontinued years ago, so you may need to go through the software versions to find the one that will work
