Flash sb5101U in spi mode

Can you supply a whole picture of your BCUSB plus it showing the connections you have soldered onto the lead header please.

i did the best i could.. i did not soldered directly i use same blackcat cable, as you see i used a pin header set and with a multimeter tester tested the points for continuity to make sure each point correspond with its equal, i connected other pin header to the end of the cable where goes the BCUSB pins to test each point, and took the diagram as guide.

Regards

Ok i can see a possible issue the Lead from your BCUSB is way to long , you need to either shorten it a lot or remove it from the equation.

do i have to feed the SP1 flash and BCUSB with the external power source( 5v) ? i actually connected only to the flash

???

You can either use an external 3v - 5v to power the SPI chip itself or you could use PIN 9 on BCUSB to power it , although i personally would use an external power source.

what about entering settings manually in the SPI tab for this device? and would let me load the script, but i need the right values for this particular flash type device, i'm telling you this is because if i select the manual default setting says flash detected size 131,000..... something like that and i can load the scripts but i'm unable to read cfg or anything once it's supposed to start reading all stay grayed out and won't do anything

i'm almost sure if i used newer blackcat 1.7 or up this would work..tutorial was done with 1.7 and i have 1.2, if the lead work with other devices i don't think that's the cause of failing to detect the flash correctly

????

no need to set manually as the chip is listed as supported. I have a v1.2 and at times i have issues , due to this not having 3v setting. I can detect chips but the data is all over the place.
So you should be able to detect the chip no matter what version , unless there is an issue with your BCUSB on SPI . But i doubt there is.

i'm glad for all you have tried to do and trying to support us for no price, but more than once i have read you wrote.." i don't have that device..." will be better to have it for better testing and improvements for blackcat.. is not enought to get the device info and user reports for making real working scripts and firmwares. just my thoughts

it could be possible i have same model with another revision.. not idea.. i don't usually like to give up, but this is time consuming and at this point it could be anything. i'm returning the device to the owner and i'll hope you keep making improvements to BC, BC still has its fans.

btw.. i still have the SBG 900 to revive.. i'm waiting for the fix.. with not hurry :-D

My Respects and Regards.

Basically as this device has been proven to work by other users , i do not feel the need to go out and purchase any devices .
I do not profit from Blackcat being any better , hence the reason i do not go out and purchase every device under the sun.

i´m not trying to argue and excuse me if i'm mistaken, but if this forum is part of the developer, and you're part of them is your duty to give the proper support for the end user, blackcat is not a free product in any way.
my excuses again if this forum don´t have anything to do with the developers, but if developers don´t have the proper support i don't recomend to anyone to use/buy blakckcat any longer, just my opinion.

Regards

I have no affiliation with the developer of Blackcat. I started this forum by myself to assist others where i could with the workings of BlackcatUSB.
Unfortunately the developer of BlackcatUSB cannot continue with the coding of the software at the present time.

To tell people not to buy/use this device , i feel is unfair , as many have found it to work for there needs. This is a cheaper option than NT which is by far the best programmer out there.
As i said before others have managed to get this modem connected and programmed correctly, so i put this down to user error on your part.

OK.. could be a mistake.. but i'm curious and i wonder.. anyone success with 5101U and BCUSB pcb 1.2 ????
i will also try with other external power source (5 v).. just in case.
Regards

Demon is possible to create a script for the modem sb 5101u it is possible to inject private key public key certificates ... usb change mac serial mac

i was able to dump it once then write hax one time and bricked and never comes on again and the ram gets very hot

i fixed it when you use external power use the ground too from it instead of from the blackcat

Please, can any one please clarify this part
"
1. now apply the external 5v power source to the VCC wire

2. load sb5101U script

3. AND BACKUP UP EVERYTHING
4. start up the blackcat software
5. disconnect usb cable from BCusb, remove the 5v power source and disconnect ISP
6. now plug in power adapter to modem and

7. then flash haxorware in the 5101 tab

thats all your done....test!
"
Line no. 3 & 4: after i load the script, clicking on any read button says "Reading blah blah blah" on the status...
but then i go and backup in the spi tab, till now the software is on, so what dous the author mean by "start up the blackcat software "

now for no. 5 after i complete the step i put the Bcusb back on to usb the script tab is gone, so what do i do next?

for 6 & 7 , if the tab is gone and i cannot connect in EJTAG mode, how do i flash it with HAX??

Ok figured it out...

Suggestion to all the ppl trying this...

Imp: use the BCUSB.1.09.SPI

Take Backup for all the tabs after the script loads.
Flash the haxorware diag into the first firmware tab of the script
Flash the boot again...

that should do it...
