sb6120 wire connections

Also , one more thing if you are powering the chip via PIN 2 , i hope you don't have the power lead connected ?

KK , the wire is good enough , but shorten it a lot , and i bet you get a connection

Can you get a shot of everything so i can trace wires , in above pic hard to distinguish. THX
Also what do you get in console ? Jedec ID or all 00 0000 ?

All your connections seem fine .

When you have ISP connected are all LED's off when you connect the power lead ?

with BCUSB hooked to the modem and the usb plugged in i have 0 lights on the modem
when i open the BCUSB program it says connected to device 00.000
when i add external power to modem 0 lights come on.
i try to detect at this point it scans and comes up with connected to device 80 810b
after 10 detects ran i still get the same code 80 810b.
i actually took the modem over and connected it to the cable line a minute ago and it was picking up feq's and 4 bonded channels. so its still working

i grabbed my ohm meter at lunch and i am getting 3.25 on pin 1 and also on pin 2.
also my ground is good

when i pulled out the power cable on the modem and detect device it comes up with 7F FFF
i must have really screwed up something. oh well part of learning.

Ok i want you to load it in this order.

1.First power modem so it goes through it's normal sequence (No BCUSB connected)
2.Power down modem
3.Connect BCUSB to modem and pc
4.Power up modem
5.Start BCUSB software.

Then tell me if the readout is the same.

Ok now i want you to try this :
1.BCUSB disconnected from modem
2. Power on modem wait 10 seconds
3.Connect BCUSB to modem and start software

let me know the result

This really weird , i have tried to replicate the issue on my 6120 and cannot , i get a connection first time always.
Only thing i can ask you to try now is to remove the cable and connect the wires direct onto the pins of the BCUSB

Being a refurb , should not be an issue as you are just reading the flash .

Also try the above with power to pin2.

Also use a multimeter and get me the readings from pins 1,3,5,7,9
