Hi, is this chip supported (MX25L6455EMI-10G) ?, seems to recognise something but contents seem to be all FF

Also which firmware would need to be loaded on the Black Cat usb board, we have V1.8 pcb

Regards

Will check the code to see if that chip is added .

you should be loading the SPI firmware on the board to R/W to this chip.

You say it seems to recognize the chip , what exactly is displayed on the console window ?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Have attached a couple of photos. The board seems to recognise a device but says not supported.
Did you have any luck checking if it was ?

Your connections seem ok , although i would try on the 5v setting as your board could be draining a lot of power from fcusb thus not enabling a detection.
We need to see a good ID in the software before we can progress.
I see you are using Build330 and that specific chip is not listed there , but if we get a good Jedec ID we can add it easily enough. I do not have the latest source code to verify if it has been implemented there as i am waiting for the developer to get back to me on this.

Hi, Yes have tried it on 5v setting, still same results. I did play around with the manual SPI settings and changed the chip size to 64mb (see attached photo). Then I get a different result with a JEDEC id, although it is zero and the rom contents all seem to be zero, see other attached pics .

regards

Without a valid JEDEC ID , the manual settings is pointless ..
Can you check the voltage you are getting on the chip with both the 3.3v and 5v setting , with fcusb connected ?

Hi D3m0n, can you explain what all the manual spi setting means? I can't seem to find those setting in the datasheet of the spi flash chip. I've looked through the mx25L160D datasheet and can't correlate the specs listed in the datasheet to manual setting tab. I'm able to get a valid JEDEC id but want to know more about manual spi settings. Thanks
